YOUTH HAPPENINGS

This summer seemed long, but at the same time it seems to go by too quickly.  First, I would like to say how proud I am of all our youth.  From camps, to mission trips, to VBS, you have represented Hazelwood very well.  Beyond just the number of you who participated or helped, your hard work and great attitude throughout these events have not gone unnoticed.  I look forward to our fellowship and Bible study time this school year. We have just a few youth events in August:

  • Sunday, August 17, we will be presenting our mission trip experience with the congregation in both services.  The youth group is also in charge of the coffee fellowship after the service.  We have the snacks and drinks covered, we need you to help serve and greet.  This is a great opportunity for you to personally share your experiences over the summer through camps, mission trip, and VBS during the coffee fellowship.
  • Sunday, August 24, we will meet at Shirley Bookout’s house for our ‘Back to School Bash and Pool Party,’ after the worship service.  Elementary School and High School youth are asked to bring a snack to share.  Middle School youth are asked to bring a two-liter bottle of soda to share.  I will provide the meat and buns.  This will give us an opportunity to share our fall program with you.  Please plan on being there!”

Coming in Sept:

9/7:    All Youth Fellowship (AYF) from 11:30 a.m. –  1 p.m.  AYF will meet      in the Fellowship House east room for lunch, unless noted otherwise.

9/14:  AYF 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.  We will then journey over to College Ave. UMC for the Crop Walk (1:30 – 3 p.m.)

9/21:  AYF 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

9/28:  AYF 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m.

Youth Meals:

We will have sign up for those who are willing and able to help sponsor meals for our youth groups.  These meals give our youth an opportunity to fellowship together before they go into a time of Bible study and prayer.  Please pray and consider how you or your group may be able to help.
