HABITAT FOR HUMANITY WORKDAY

“For most of us, having a safe, dry, and comfortable place to sleep at night is not a concern. But for many, it is a dream. Habitat for Humanity is in the business of giving a ‘hand up’, not a ‘hand out.’ You have the opportunity to be a part of helping someone achieve the dream of owning their own home, or making a home more livable. Hazelwood’s Habitat for Humanity workday will be Saturday, October 10, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. You do not have to work the whole time. If you can work the morning or the afternoon, that is fine. And don’t worry, BSU football fans, there is no home game that day! Marianna Gill will be taking names during coffee fellowship in the Rotunda after the service. While you’re signing up, you can check out the display that was lovingly put together by Mary Alice Lanning, in honor of her sister, Bettie Kirk, who was an avid Habitat for Humanity volunteer. Also, if you’ve ever worked on a Habitat home, whether a new build, or a refurbish, please sign the poster board by the sign-up table. Let’s show a family who needs a ‘hand up’ that we are the hands and feet of God.”
