I love the biblical book of Revelation. Most of us are scared off by Revelation’s intense imagery, and we often concede the book to those who only want to use it for hateful messages or conspiracy theories. When we understand the type of writing Revelation is and the situation of its original readers, we find instead a hopeful and life-giving message. We’re going to study Revelation in August on Wednesday evenings with a special program called Sandwich & Study. We’ll gather at 6pm on August 9, 16, 23, and 30. We’ll first share in a light sandwich meal, and then we’ll have a time of learning from Revelation.

We need some volunteers who would agree to make sandwiches for each evening (along with maybe some chips and a drink). We’ll have a sign-up sheet in the Rotunda starting July 23 for those who would like to sign up to attend and/or provide sandwiches. A study book is available called Breaking the Code by Bruce Metzger, and it costs $8. I hope you’ll share in this special study and fellowship, and if you have questions don’t hesitate to ask me.
