MISSIONS PRESENTATION
Church camps and Summer Missions have kept the Hazelwood Youth quite busy this summer. Most summers, the youth head out on a week-long trip for their Summer Missions. This year, they changed things up a bit and focused on service projects right here in our own community. By pairing up with Muncie Mission, YWCA of Muncie, ARF, and The Hoosier Environmental Council, our Youth were able to touch the lives of local men, women, children, and animals. They even did a little demolition work here at Hazelwood to help our preschool to expand their Toddler room! These experiences have challenged, stretched, taught new skills, and changed our youth forever. It was an adventure they were excited to share with family and friends.
On Sunday, August 13, the Youth will have a chance to share their Summer Missions experiences with the Hazelwood congregation during the morning worship service. The needs in our community are great, but as our Youth will tell you: whether you are young, or simply young at heart, we can all make a difference in the lives of those around us!
BACK-TO-SCHOOL POOL PARTY
This summer has gone by so fast! With the start of the new school year approaching, plans for our regular All-Youth Fellowship meetings are in the works, and what better way to kick things off than a pool party!
Shirley Bookout has graciously invited the Hazelwood Youth to her home for All-Youth Fellowship and a Pool Party! Mark your calendars for August 13 from Noon-3 p.m. We will talk about upcoming AYF events and plans, then it’s all about the food and fun! Hotdogs and drinks will be provided. Please bring a snack to share and anything you need for swimming (don’t forget the sunscreen!). RSVP to Rev. James if you are planning on attending, so he can be sure there is plenty of food to go around!
