Getting involved in church beyond Sunday morning worship helps you grow closer to your church family and closer to God. Have you been looking for new ways to get involved here at Hazelwood? Here are just a few of the many opportunities currently available:
Bell & Vocal Choirs: All are invited to join the Hazelwood Bell Choir or Vocal Choir. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings starting August 23. Bells meet at 6 p.m., Vocal Choir meets at 7:15 p.m. If you would like more information, contact our Director of Choirs, Sally Geib, at smkg07@gmail.com.
Church School Teachers: We are looking for teachers, helpers, and substitutes for Church School on Sunday mornings during part of the worship service. Teachers rotate monthly and are provided curriculum. There are currently two Church School groups: Toddler to Preschool, and Kindergarten to 5th Grade. If you would like to volunteer to help teach, contact Rev. James in the church office.
CWF (Christian Women’s Fellowship): This group of women is hosted by Jeane Garrett at Morrison Woods, Room #101, on the 4th Monday of the month at 2 p.m. If you are interested in joining them or have any questions, contact Mary Dobson at (765) 281-9132.
Meal Coordinator: Often times after a funeral service, family and friends will gather in Cartwright Hall for a light meal. We are looking for someone who is willing to coordinate these meals. This person would be in charge of finding volunteers to come in and help prepare the meal, serve, and clean up afterwards. This is a great opportunity to be a blessing to others at a time when they need the support of their church family the most. Men’s Lunch: This group of men meets in Cartwright Hall on the 3rd Friday of the month at Noon for lunch and fellowship. The group takes turns hosting and preparing the meal. If you are interested in joining them or have any questions, contact Gene Dobson at (765) 281-9132.
Receptionists: We are in need of receptionists to help answer phones and greet visitors weekday mornings from 9 a.m.-Noon. If you would like more information or to volunteer one day of the week, please contact Stefanie in the church office.
Youth Sponsors: We are looking for individuals interested in being part of the leadership of our elementary, middle, and high school youth. Youth Sponsors in the past have helped with anything from teaching during All-Youth Fellowship to planning or chaperoning various events. Contact Rev. James in the church office to learn more about this opportunity.
