ALL-YOUTH FELLOWSHIP 9-28-17

AYF is a time of fun, fellowship, food, and growing in our faith. Here’s a sneak-peek into some of the things we are up to:

Our high school group is focusing on Christian living through The Simpsons (there’s a side to Homer and Bart you don’t often hear about!). Our middle school group is looking at where Christ fits in their lives at a time when they are discovering their own identity. Our elementary group is focusing on learning Bible basics and themes, and each child is working towards earning a child-friendly Bible to call their own. In order to earn their Bible, they need to show they have learned these three basic Bible skills: 1) How to locate the different books of the Bible; 2) Memorizing important Bible verses; and 3) Locating a specific verse in the Bible. These basic skills, and the Bible they earn by demonstrating them, will give them the foundation they need to grow in their faith in the coming years.

Grown-ups sometimes forget that growing up can be rough. Every day is full of new, often confusing or frustrating, experiences. AYF is an excellent way to learn to navigate the craziness of life with the help of each other and Christ. Not to mention it’s a whole lot of fun!

AYF if for ALL of our youth (friends are always welcome, too!), and if you haven’t been able to meet with us yet, it’s never too late to join in! If you have any questions, contact Rev. James in the church office or by email at hccjpetty@gmail.com
