SEE YOU AT THE POLE
See You at the Pole began in 1990 as a challenge by a youth group just like ours in Texas. They felt called to set aside one day where all could gather to pray over their school, community, government, and nation. The action of this youth group has become a yearly event on the fourth Wednesday of September at 7 a.m. around flagpoles nationwide. No longer is this event simply one for youth– it has extended to other educational institutions, places of businesses, government buildings, and communities across the U.S.
There are a variety of things you may see happening at a gathering around the flagpole: worship, music, special guest speakers, bible study, etc. The most important thing is prayer. This can be done individually, in small groups, or with the entire group.
For those unable to gather around the flagpole, you can still be a part of this wonderful phenomenon! Be in prayer for those who are courageous and able to meet. Pray for the testimony they give through their presence and their prayers. Pray for the movement of the Spirit while they meet, and throughout the day, as they encounter others.
