YOUTH NEWS 8-16-18

THANK YOU

On behalf of those who participated on our Summer Missions Trip, I want to thank our stockholders for being a vital part of our experience. Through your generous purchase of Youth Stock, we were able to raise $945. The words “Thank You” fall short of how truly appreciative we are of you and Hazelwood Christian Church. Your thoughts, prayers, and investments help shape our youth into disciples for Christ. Our youth were stretched and challenged in their own faith and abilities during our time at Give Kids the World. Through your support and other fundraisers, the lives of eleven of our youth, four youth sponsors, and countless families were forever transformed.

Thank you for allowing us to share our stories and experiences with you during our Stockholders’ Dinner. Your presence showed our youth how much you truly care about them and what they are doing in the name of God and Hazelwood. I know several were not able to attend the presentation, but my hope is you will find time to ask the youth about their experiences. — Rev. James Petty

AYF (ALL-YOUTH FELLOWSHIP)

All-Youth Fellowship is off to a great start! We had a blast at our Back-to-School Pool Party on August 12 as we ate, swam, and started planning some of our upcoming Youth events. AYF will continue to meet every other Sunday through November 19, then meet on the first 3 Sundays in December as we work on our Annual Christmas Box Project.

All youth, from Kindergarten through 12th grade, are invited to join us for AYF as we take a look at how our faith impacts our lives and our community through Bible study, movies, and service projects. For each meeting, we’ll start by gathering in Cartwright Hall for lunch at 11:30 a.m. After we’ve had our fill, we’ll continue in fellowship with Bible Study and activities until 1 p.m. We will meet as one big group for some activities and will break up into separate groups for elementary, middle school, and high school when appropriate. If you have any questions about AYF, contact Rev. James in the church office.

*Keep on eye on the Youth News section of future newsletters for details on upcoming Youth events!
