For most of us, having a safe, dry, and comfortable place to sleep at night is not a concern. But for many, it is a dream. Habitat for Humanity is in the business of giving a ‘hand up’, not a ‘hand out.’ You have the opportunity to be a part of helping someone achieve the dream of owning their own home, or making a home more livable. Hazelwood’s Habitat for Humanity workday will be Saturday, May 11, from 9 a.m.–3 p.m. You do not have to work the whole time. If you can work the morning or the afternoon, that is fine.
If you would like to be a part of this rewarding day, sign up in Sulanke Commons after the service. If you don’t feel you can work at the work site, another way to help would be to help provide lunch for the workers that day. If you’d be interested in that, see Marianna Gill. Let’s show a family who needs a ‘hand up’ that we are the hands and feet of God!
