CHRISTMAS EVE WORSHIP & CHRISTMAS EVE OFFERING 2020

The good news of Christ’s birth cannot be stopped by anything, including a pandemic. On December 24, at 7 p.m., on Facebook (HazelwoodCC), we will have our Christmas Eve worship service. This will conclude our worship series “I Believe Even When” by Worship Design Studio. While this won’t be our traditional service of Lessons and Carols in the Sanctuary, you will find it is similar in many ways and just as meaningful. Here is some information to help make your online worship that night move smoothly. As we have been lighting our own Advent candles in our home these last few weeks, we will light our Christ candle in this service. The Christ candle is white, signifying the purity of Jesus as a substitution for us on the cross. We will light the Christ candle after the threshold moment. We will be partaking in communion. You will also need another candle to light at the end of our service, to hold while we sing together Silent Night, Holy Night. You will ignite that candle from the flame on the Christ candle. Let us fill the night with music and light.

The pandemic will also not stop us from giving out of our blessings from God to help the ministries of our Disciples of Christ region. We will be collecting a special Christmas Eve offering. You may bring in, or mail, a check to the church office. Please write “Christmas Eve Offering” on the memo line. You may also go online using this link which will take you to the Disciples of Christ Indiana website: https://disciplesmissionfund.org/give/ .
