HEARTS & HANDS UNITED SCHOOL SUPPLY GIVEAWAY

Saturday, August 7, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Fairgrounds Memorial Building

This event is for children who live and attend school in Delaware County. Goals are to provide school supplies and a NEW pair of shoes for students who are not able to afford them. Each organization that helps has one size, one gender, ensuring there will be enough shoes in each size to meet the needs of the Back-to-School Distribution on Saturday, August 7.

Hazelwood has been asked to provide 50 NEW pairs of MEN’S SIZE 9 ATHLETIC SHOES. We will be collecting now through Sunday, August 1. There will be a tote in Sulanke Commons for the donated NEW MEN’S SIZE 9 ATHLETIC SHOES. Please remove shoes from boxes, tie laces together, and place in the tote. Thanks!

COMING TOGETHER THROUGH READING

The Muncie Public Library and Yes We Care are joining with the Whitely Community Council Educational Alliance to promote learning and reading throughout the summer through pop-up reading events. Everyone is invited to join in at any of these pop-up events. Bring your own book and a chair (or sit on the grass, steps, or sidewalk), and discover the joy of reading for at least 15 minutes every day! Most events are outside and will be cancelled in the case of rain.
