Dear Hazelwood Friends,
I’m using this space this week to call to your attention a fabulous opportunity for our congregation this Saturday at the Fall Community Festival being held right here on our Hazelwood campus from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. A local radio station will even be broadcasting from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. live from the event and giving out prizes!
Our congregation will host a kids craft table and a few outdoor activities near the vegetable garden, and we will also hand out brochures about our church. I will be doing a short story time for children beginning at 1 p.m. in the fountain area of the Memorial Garden. There will also be several musical groups performing at the red door entrance to our building, and our very own Hazelwood Christian Ensemble will be sharing their musical talents from 2-2:30 p.m.
What a great opportunity to connect to our community and live out our church’s mission statement! We really need help with set up at 9 a.m., mostly moving tables and chairs outside, and then putting them away at 3 p.m. And more volunteers to staff the craft table and to talk to people on behalf of our church would be deeply appreciated! So far I only have two volunteers, who will help staff the craft table, so we will be limited in the reach we will have unless more step forward.
There will be three food vendors from which to purchase food to eat, so plan to bring a blanket and enjoy a picnic meal on the lawn, also. Those vendors include Cafe at the Crossing, a BBQ vendor, and a Mexican food vendor. Here is a complete list of activities known to this point; it’s possible that a few more will be added by Thursday. You may check out more about the Fall Community Festival by clicking HERE.
