From Rev. Eric…

March 27, 2024

This morning, I shared on our email conversation list a quote by Rev. Rachel Mann. Rev. Mann writes, “Resurrection is predicated on death. This is a powerful message in an age and culture in which technology and market economics have created the illusion that life and growth are almost endless.” To which I add a vocal, “Amen!”

Holy Week gives us both life… and death… and life. This week, I have been reflecting on the “death-moments” in my life which have been followed by “resurrection-moments.” Moments such as career changes, the ending of relationships and the beginning of new relationships, and moments where life offers a surprise or two along the way.

I once wrote in the religious column of a newspaper, “Resurrection happens in each and every moment of life.” One moment dies and passes into the newness of the next. As the one who sits on the throne says in the Book of Revelation, “Behold, I am making all things new!”

May it be so in this Easter season and in every moment of your life…
